Our client are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the team to support an ongoing suite of investment as well as the day to day operations of their plant assets.Working closely with the engineering functions, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of the mechanical engineering systems and associated compliance activities.As Mechanical Engineer you will support the development of mechanical systems and processes that support and assure standards are met against applicable legislation on a COMAH site. The Mechanical Engineer will have a strong technical background gained within the chemical, or process sectors with experience of COMAH sites.More information on the Mechanical Engineer position:* Support the ongoing development compliant systems that and supports the realisation of plant objectives relating to engineering, maintenance and asset reliability.* Mechanical integrity related inspection* Creation of and implementation of innovative technical solutions through data analysis to eliminate repeat failures.* Mechanical design approval for projects.* Be the Primary mechanical, civil and structural approval of plant modifications* Take part in and lead mechanical Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) studies and estimate the cost of failure using the company Risk Matrix* Assist in the creation of and maintenance of an up-to-date life-plan ensuring timely recommendation of CAPEX replacement and repair* Monitoring and ensuring site compliance with all statutory regulations related to mechanical systems including: * PSSR / PED, PUWER, LOLER, LEV, DSEAR* COMAH permit obligations* Machine / Rotating Regs* Ensure databases are maintained to ensure mechanical aspects are kept up to date and within legal guidelines.* Some liaison with external bodies such as customers, or auditors may be required.* Support any abnormal situations and emergencies associated with the mechanical system.The Mechanical Engineer will have:* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent* Chartered Engineer & Member of Institution of Mechanical Engineering* NEBOSH certificate or equivalent would be preferred* 5+ years of working in a similar technical position on an COMAH site.* A proven record of being able to work successfully in a multi-discipline team environment.* Excellent communicator who demonstrates the ability to build and develop stakeholder relationshipsThis is an excellent opportunity within a progressive company offering rare opportunities to make a meaningful impact to a company and its operations.Consortium Professional Recruitment Ltd are a professional level recruitment consultancy specialising in the delivery of high relevance recruitment services on behalf of our clients across the UK.
