In Global Manufacturing Engineering we take the product from conception and use our advanced tools, facilities and processes to put it on the open road.The Dimensional Systems team are a key part in realising our Modern Luxury design, we are responsible for delivering the world class fit and finish that our discerning customers have come to expect from Jaguar Land Rover. All elements of Dimensional Quality are within our remit, whether it be assessing feasibility of product design and processes, conducting Dimensional Variation Analysis (DVA), defining and delivering the Measurement and Metrology strategy, or quality Maturation of new vehicles throughout a product launch.We are looking for a Dimensional Engineer to be part of our exceptional M easurement Planning team. The measurement selection process is key in facilitating the maturation of new vehicles into production, as well as providing on-going production controls. If you are an individual with drive, keenness to learn, who enjoys working in a team to solve problems, whilst operating in a highly demanding environment, then this may be the role for you.Key Accountabilities And Responsibilities
  • Liaise with vehicle programme teams to ensure all required measurement features are captured, ensuring this aligns with the overall agreed measurement strategy
  • Ensure Measurement programmes are created and handed over to the Metrology team on time to allow programmes to be commissioned ahead of relevant vehicle build phase
  • Monitor and assess Engineering change, ensuring that measurement point features align to latest engineering release. Action any live programme changes
  • Set up of the Dimensional Data Management System in readiness for prototype builds, and updating for subsequent build events – ahead of all build starts
  • Work with Lead Measurement Planning Engineer to continuously improve the process, including identifying and delivering the use of new technology
What You’ll NeedKnowledge, Skills, and ExperienceEssential
  • Metrology experience
  • Experience using CAD Packages (CATIA/3DExperience)
  • Understanding of Manufacturing Processes & Lean Principles
  • Able to present data and information in a variety of forums and to key stakeholders
  • Automotive background – with understanding of Manufacturing Processes (ideally Body-in-White and General Assembly)
  • Experience with Polyworks metrology suite
