Trelleborg Sealing Solutions Cadley Hill is looking for a Materials Specialist. The role will be part of the New Business Team whose experience and knowledge of polymer, and associated, materials gives them the capability of developing and implementing new materials, as well as supporting the NBT team on existing material developments/issues.Job DescriptionTasks and Responsibilities
  • Materials and processing support for the New Business Team
  • Developing and implementing new materials and their associated Intellectual Property (IP) where appropriate
  • Co-ordination of materials discussions with the supply chain & procurement
  • Supporting the development and maintenance of the materials library
  • Keep abreast of new materials test requirements and equipment to ensure materials evaluations are undertaken in accordance with required standards.
  • Formulation of elastomeric compounds
  • Support and advice on the operation of rubber process equipment for development projects
  • Supporting, arranging and carrying out materials testing
  • Ensure compliance to all system requirements, including AS9100, Health & Safety, ISO14001, 5S, etc
Candidate Profile
  • Materials related degree - elastomer related preferred
  • Experience of elastomer formulating and processing
  • Experience of composite manufacture and use
  • Experience of different manufacturing methods within the elastomer & composite manufacturing industry with the ability to support process trials
  • Experience in training staff and supporting other key functions
  • Sound Technical knowledge
