Job DescriptionMaterials - Failure InvestigatorFull TimeBristolWhy Rolls-Royce?We currently have an exciting opportunity within the Failure Investigation team in Rolls-Royce Defence. The role is based in Bristol within the Materials Laboratory.As a Failure Investigator, your main responsibility will be to conduct failure investigation activities across the whole range of Bristol design authority Defence and Marine products using established and novel techniques to produce high quality investigation reports.We are looking for a motivated problem-solver that is not afraid to be placed out of their comfort zone to learn quickly about unfamiliar components and analytical techniques.We offer excellent development, a competitive salary and exceptional benefits.   • Understand customer needs and derive investigation requirements
  • Support the In-service and Development teams in root cause understanding of component failures
  • Offer support to urgent safety investigations from both external and internal customers on a variety of aerospace and marine components
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects

  • A degree in Engineering or relevant experience.
  • Good analytical skills
  • Knowledge of Failure Investigation analytical techniques is desirable but not essential
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral and the ability to build good working relationships across the business
  • Knowledge of the gas turbine and its components
