This will be your opportunity to demonstrate your exemplary customer service skills as you engage with customers, clients and visitor throughout each shift, whilst remaining alert to security issues and keeping everyone safe.

The role of a Maritime Security Officer is to prevent and deter access of unauthorised persons or prohibited articles to the Port, whilst also conducting external and internal security patrols as detailed in the Assignment Instructions.

You will be:

  • Presenting a visible security presence
  • Responding to and assisting Port Management and National Agencies in emergency situations whilst using your professional manner
  • Meet and greet visitors and staff with a helpful and courteous approach
  • Searching passengers transportation, freight vehicles including their baggage
  • Foot and mobile patrols
  • Passport and Trace checks
  • Working within ISPS code - full trainig will be provided
  • Managaging and issuing vehcle and pedestrian access passes
  • Reporting any health and safety issues or potential hazards

This role will require Officers to work alongside each other to ensure the safety of the Port and work alongside the Port staff, Port Police, Local Authorities, and Government Agencies.

Essential Skills

  • Must hold a valid SIA Licence.
  • Must have the right to work in the UK.
  • Must be over 18.
  • Have a five year checkable employment history or be able to produce documentary evidence of any period of unemployment, self-employment or full and part-time education during that period.
  • A full UK driving licence and own transport
  • Flexible to work shifts, days, nights and weekends
  • Be confident, articulate and communicate well both orally and in written language
