Role Summary
This position is responsible for ensuring that the Manufacturing software application for Sunderland is properly configured and supported. This position requires an overall understanding of production processes, and knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure, hardware, PLC’s, ERP and other software systems. Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain, support and update Manufacturing software systems
  • Maintain strong plant floor presence, working closely with the manufacturing teams. Take a “hands on” approach to all critical areas of the operation, which includes Bonding, Assembly & Sequencing.
  • Work in conjunction with the MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) Engineer, production, process, and automation teams to develop the most robust manufacturing software solutions
  • Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve issues relating to sequenced assembly lines to enable continuous production
  • Assist in investigating customer and plant issues and implement corrective actions in a timely manner
  • Participate in Production meetings and other department meetings to ensure fluid MES communication throughout the division
  • Adherence to all current Health, Safety and Environmental regulations and guidance including Magna Policies
  • Other duties commensurate to the role Essentials
  • Previous experience of working in a fast paced manufacturing environment
  • Experience building software reports
  • Experience with Relational Databases (e.g. PostgreSQL)
  • Proficient computer skills a must (Word, Excel and Visio)
  • Experience of troubleshooting hardware devices
Desirable
  • Experience implementing or supporting MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) solutions
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and participate as a team player
  • Experience in synchronous manufacturing, PLC solutions, ERP solutions and overall IT infrastructure
  • Previous experience of working within the automotive sector
  • Experience of working with OPC solutions
  • Knowledge of Power BI
  • Software development skills
