Role Summary
The purpose of this role is to
  • Assist in the completion of converting the current warehouse facility into a suitable production facility.
  • Assisting the Facilities Manager in the day to day operation of the site and buildings.
  • Assisting in maintaining legal and other compliance.
  • This role is a hands on position and will be responsible for implementing and carrying out all maintenance tasks associated with keeping the grounds and building in good repair and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities

Functional Responsibilities:
  • Undertake a wide range of general basic building maintenance repairs, and improvements
  • Carry out daily routine inspection of the buildings and grounds to identify, record and take appropriate action
  • Minor plumbing, carpentry and DIY
  • Minor grounds maintenance
  • To assist contractors as appropriate, ensuring compliance with all relevant health safety and environmental legislation.
  • General maintenance, testing and operation of systems relating to the fire alarms, sprinkler system, intruder alarm, heating and ventilation, gas and water, lighting.
  • Ensure essential systems are able to function such as fueling the generator and sprinkler pumps
  • Carry out improvements in respect of internal and external redecoration and internal and external fabric of buildings.
  • Assist with maintaining the physical security of the site including supporting on occasion out of hours access and egress

Individual Responsibilities:
  • Ensure a safe working environment and excellent housekeeping standards
  • Other duties commensurate to the role. Essential
  • HNC in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics or similar
  • Time served as an apprentice (mechanical/ electrical)
  • Be able to work own initiative and be able to liaise with other functions and departments at all levels within the Company Desirable
  • General experience of building maintenance.
  • Basic understanding of building schematics and plans.
  • Counterbalance Forklift truck license
  • Practical use of tools and equipment
  • Experience with using Microsoft Office
  • Behaves in a professional manner
  • Good communicator who is open and honest
  • Focused on continuous improvement with a safety mindset
  • Organised and methodical with a result driven approach
  • Flexible with good decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Personable and approachable
  • Painting and decorating experience
  • Plumbing and carpentry experience.
  • A recognised NVQ or other related qualification in general
