Which is where you join the journey.What To ExpectJoin the Manufacturing Excellence team as part of JLR’s Refocus 2.0 and Reimagine journey as we transform our global Manufacturing footprint into delivering value driven competitive results across all manufacturing technologies.This role will lead a team who are responsible for identifying opportunities to reduce cost and eliminate waste of time, money, materials, labour hoursand machine time while optimising labour value, volume capacity and manufacturing strategies.You will focus across all Manufacturing technologies and sites.What You’ll Be Responsible For
  • Help create the Manufacturing Excellence strategy for competitiveness across all manufacturing technologies in our global operations footprint working to competitiveness targets and key results.
  • Further develop and lead the Manufacturing Excellence workshop models, to identify the value stream in a given process, help the team identify any waste and target waste removal with concise action planning.
  • Become a subject matter expert for Manufacturing Excellence competitiveness developing a toolset for both internally and externally best practice benchmarked competitiveness standards that will allow for a data-driven approach to operational target setting for both current and future programmes.
  • Build strong relationships with the operations teams by showing the worth of competitiveness, bringing them along the journey of Manufacturing excellence and helping to train and coach them with the tool sets they need make Manufacturing competitiveness a natural skill.
  • Work with Product Development and Manufacturing Engineering teams to develop processes and facilities to ensure that the most efficient product and processes are developed and delivered at Job1.
  • Develop a governance model for programmes and model years to achieve the required operational targets and have successful launches, through the deployment of industrial engineering tools and techniques.
  • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested.
What You’ll NeedEssential:
  • Previous experience of Manufacturing Industrial Engineering processes, tools and techniques including delivery of productivity targets in Manufacturing.
  • Knowledge and experience of Lean Manufacturing tools, techniques and working practices.
  • Leading and implementing transformation projects within manufacturing.
  • Good understanding of HPU make-up and all contributing factors.
  • Familiarised with flexible manufacturing systems and automated assembly lines.
  • Previous experience of team supervision and performance management.
  • Previous experience of working with Product Development and Manufacturing Engineering processes.
