In this role, you have the opportunity to work as part of the R&D team within Philips RDT to head up the Manufacturing Engineering. You will represent manufacturing providing input to the development of new and modification of existing designs. Along with identifying and executing improvements in manufacturing processes, tools and equipment.
You will also lead the provision of first line engineering support to ensure production continuity in the supply chain, initiate production escalations, execute problem solving related to Manufacturing processes, tools and equipment.
You are responsible for:
Providing first line engineering support to production team and production systems
Initiating production escalations, executes problem solving related to Manufacturing processes, tools and equipment
Preparing, plans and executes Capex projects for repeat equipment
Identifies and executes improvements in manufacturing processes, tools and equipment. With a focus on quality and efficiency improvements
Applying lean manufacturing principles
Direct line management of manufacturing engineers
Employing equipment, practices, and procedures which promote a healthy, safe, and secure work environment
Performing technical analysis and participates in feasibility studies.
Driving current state and future state roadmap factory/VSM.
Represent operations in new product development by providing input into manufacturing requirements and gate reviews
The performance of processes, tools and equipment after project hand-over is completed from R&D.
Provides expert support in outsourced product industrialization and change implementation
Creates Quality Control Plan and Work Instructions
Oversees equipment installation and supports ramp up of production lines at the site
Oversees implementation of design changes
Initiates and oversees implementation of improvements in manufacturing processes, tools and equipment.
Identifies data/information needed to solve a problem
Drives Root cause investigation by data and information gathering and formulates a problem statement
Understands the underlying relationship among facts and connections between issues
Takes ownership of decisions and actions
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
10+ years of electronic product development / manufacturing experience ideally with medical devices
Experience with QMS and with corporate governance
Line Management Experience
Mastery of Manufacturing Fundamentals
Strong communication skills
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong hands on proactive approach
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Customer and Quality mind-set
Experience using SAP in a manufacturing environment
