Due to a sustained order book form their customers, our client is seeking an experienced Manufacturing / Process Production Engineer to support new product launch , shop floor process & equipment improvements in a high volume automotive production environment.

Manufacturing Engineer

Salary: £30000-35000

Fixed term 12 month contract

Location: Wolverhampton

As a Manufacturing Process Engineer, you will be required to support line with production stoppages and trouble shooting/ problem solving to resolve issue in a timely manner.

Duties:

o Manage new product Introduction projects to deliver components on time and within budget.

o Improve existing manufacturing processes to achieve measured productivity improvements.

o Work directly with suppliers/ vendors of tooling/ production equipment

o Produce detailed documentation, write SOP and PFMEAs

o Liaise directly with customer and/or supplier technical departments to resolve process related issues.

o Support new product introduction and capacity trials

o Preparation of manufacturing routings and bills of material including tooling and purchased components as required.

o Assist with obtaining costs for sub contract and purchased components.

Experience:

Applications are sought from Manufacturing Engineers, Process Engineers or Production Engineers with experience gained from within a high- volume manufacturing environment, preferably automotive.

o HNC/ Degree qualified in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineer or equivalent

o Experience in engineering in the following processes would be the ideal: Fabrication, CNC Machining, Welding, Metal Forming.

o Ability to prove the initial feasibility & then manage projects from cradle to grave

o Knowledge of lean and experience of implementing lean principles- Kaizen, Six Sigma, Kanban, 5s,

o Experience of CAD would be an advantage.

o Able work independently and thrive under pressure
