Managing Quantity Surveyor - Somerset, Frome Our client is an established and respected general Civil Engineering sub-contractor operating across UK and Europe. Their division undertakes large civil engineering packages on behalf of Tier-1 main contractors primarily involved in the civil, data centre, infrastructure, utilities, turnkey solutions, preconstruction service, mechanical, electrical. The project: Heavy civils and steel frame/ clad project in Frome, Somerset, Duration approximately As a Managing Quantity Surveyor you will be responsible for monitoring and reviewing the activities of the contract operation in order to enable the company to meet its commercial objectives and targets. You will provide the Contract Manager/ Commercial Manager with regular and accurate information relating to the status of all aspects of the contract. Key role deliverables :-Maintaining Project Pipeline and Order book
  • Develop and maintain relationship with clients
  • Ensuring all Commercial Activities are performed in an ethical manner while maintaining a competitive position for the company
  • Ensure Project Forecasting is accurately reported on a monthly basis
  • Ensuring accurate Month - End CVR Reporting
  • Reviewing and managing Risk and Opportunities
  • Ensure cashflow is maintained
  • Manage and mentor team
  • Monthly Commercial Reporting / Health Check Reporting
  • Any other reasonable requests as required by Management
  • It is expected that all of your behaviours and day to day activities will be underpinned by the company core values Minimum Qualifications/Experience :
  • Good level of IT literacy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possession of or studying to gain relevant professional qualification
  • Degree Qualification or Similar
  • Commercial Experience
  • Professional Qualification Essential and Desirable skills :
  • Able to work under pressure and to achieve contractual deadlines
  • Time management skills and flexibility for planning and prioritising tasks
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with good presentation and negotiation skills
  • Excellent commercial awareness and the ability to manage and monitor risk
