The Managing Director of OxfordAQA will be leading a team delivering rapid growth in a highly competitive market. The OxfordAQA joint venture uses the resources of both OUP and AQA, and the individual needs to be able to work across the matrix to inspire and lead.

In this role you’ll be responsible for providing overall leadership and strategic direction to the OxfordAQA venture, delivering an over-arching strategy that will drive sustainable revenue growth, through providing high quality qualifications to the British curriculum international schools market.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver a strategy to drive sustainable growth and operations
  • Ensure OxfordAQA receives best in class operational exam delivery and sales and marketing services
  • Ensure high performing, best in class sales and marketing / qualifications and exam delivery teams are in place
  • Ensure effective operational planning and financial management control is in place
  • Proactively build effective relationships with key customers, local ministries of education and partners such as the British Council
  • Deliver effective leadership practices and management of performance
  • Build collaborative and constructive relationships with AQA and OUP colleagues

OxfordAQA provides International GCSE and A-level qualifications which have been specially developed for students studying at an international school. We’re a partnership between Oxford University Press, the largest university press in the world, and AQA, the UK’s largest academic awarding body.

ABOUT YOU

With strong experience of leading successful teams in the Education space, you will have:

  • A track record of driving effective revenue, profit/surplus and market share growth through business and operational excellence strategies
  • The ability to direct teams who can further develop and implement complex plans
  • Experience of UK & International assessment markets
  • Extensive experience and a strong track record of success in sales and marketing, preferably in the Education sector
  • Proven team leadership, management, negotiation and influencing skills at a senior level

Awarding body experience is not essential, but an understanding of assessment is helpful.
