Our people value different perspectives, they care about the sustainability of our planet and dare to shape the future.

One of our core values is ‘people first’, and supported by our Lovinklaan foundation, we invest in you for the long term, to ensure you reach your full potential. You’ll have the opportunity to own your career and work on industry-defining projects, finding solutions to real challenges that make a difference to people’s lives. You’re encouraged to have a growth mindset and are given the space to develop personally and professionally, building a flexible career that works for you.

Role Description-
Our Business Transformation team is recognised in the market for the quality of its people. Beyond expertise in one or more of our core consulting disciplines, you will need a strong intellect, the ability to articulate complex ideas persuasively and a talent for showing clients that we have the right solutions to their most pressing issues.

In an ever changing and highly competitive world, asset intensive organisations are looking for new ways to create value and deliver superior outcomes for their customers through their capital investment projects, programmes and portfolios. The UK 2020 Budget was an exciting announcement for major capital programmes with investment topping £640bn over five years. However, without interjection there is an expected 11.4% ‘capital investment wastage’ leading to £73bn which could have been reinvested.

As one of the 6 core consulting disciplines, the Capital Programme Transformation community are seeking Senior and Principal Consultants to support clients in minimising this wastage and maximising the achievement of outcomes, benefits and organisational objectives through optimising programme delivery.

Role Accountabilities-

  • Working on client projects throughout the project lifecycle, from sales / bidding to solution design and activity planning, successful delivery and knowledge capture.
  • Supporting your colleagues in recognising their strengths and encouraging their personal development.
  • Diagnosing and tackling complex programme problems, across large-scale consulting engagements, designing and implementing solutions that can demonstrate benefits and value delivered.
  • Analysing markets, trends, risks and opportunities, to provide fresh insights to clients.
  • Utilising insights, data and information to inform potential solutions, recommendations and outcomes to clients and stakeholders.
  • Continuous development of our Capital Programme Transformation specific offerings, supporting proposals, and development of solutions.
  • Support the growth of Arcadis’ Business Transformation Team through contribution to the Business Plan, pipeline and revenue generating activities.
  • Applying a strategic mindset and skillset, suitable for advising client c-suite and leadership teams on programme delivery and decisions impacting their capital investments.
Qualifications & Experience-
Whilst potential is more important to us than experience, ideally you will also have at least some of the following key skills and expertise-
  • Demonstrable experience of the consulting industry and/or capital programmes in a relevant sector (Construction, Infrastructure, Water, Energy, Utilities, etc.)
  • A strong understanding of appropriate procedures, processes and operating practices and how these can contribute to delivering successful programme outcomes.
  • Knowledge of the application of best practice in aspects of Portfolio, Programme and/or Project Management-
    • Strategy definition and prioritisation
    • Programme organisation design and operating models
    • Programme Mobilisation and set up
    • Programme re-prioritisation, recovery & optimisation
    • Transformation Programme Management
    • Risk management and mitigation strategies
    • Programme reporting, data analytics and digitisation
  • Demonstrable ability to work alongside clients and within project teams to understand and assess business problems and build and communicate practical improvement recommendations.
  • Ability to carry out market analysis and benchmarking, and willingness to proactively explore and develop new propositions relating to these.
  • Relevant industry qualifications are preferable, including but not limited to, MSP (Managing Successful Programmes), MoR (Management of Risk), MoV (Management of Value) and/or Management of Portfolios (MoP) and/or a member of a relevant industry body, or the desire of working towards one; including, but not limited to, Association of Project Management (APM) and Management Consultancies Association (MCA).
