PGL, the UK’s leading outdoor education provider, has a fantastic opportunity for a Maintenance Team Leader to join the team at Marchants Hill our stunning activity centre in Surrey.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this key position will be responsible for supporting the management of a team of permanent Maintenance Technicians.

Located on the edge of the beautiful Devils Punchbowl, Marchants Hill is a diverse and busy operation that can currently accommodate up to 600 guests and 150 staff.

Key responsibilities include:

  • All aspects of day-to-day site/grounds maintenance;
  • Ensuring safe working practices at all times;
  • Monitoring, observing and reviewing the maintenance staff team;
  • The training and development of staff;
  • Managing working hours and holiday;
  • Ensuring the team delivers the highest levels of customer service at all times;
  • Responding and managing to emergency situations such as boiler breakdowns, power outage etc;
  • Liaising with other staff on centre, contractors and suppliers, developing effective working relationships.
  • On-centre project work and centre development work;
  • Assisting with centre specific duties associated with a residential children’s activity centre including meetings and Duty Management responsibilities.

Candidates applying for this role must be enthusiastic and keen to take on a challenge. We would expect candidates to be able to demonstrate strong people management skills and have the ability to lead and develop a team. A valid driving licence would also be desirable.
