Position:

JOB PURPOSE

Reporting directly into the Maintenance team leader, the Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for the site and all of its maintenance to ensure production is continually provided. On occasions where issues cannot be resolved internally, the Maintenance Engineer will assist with external suppliers to resolve issues in a timely manner.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES

  • Undertaking routine and preventative maintenance/mechanical settings and fault diagnosis across all the facility and systems, some major items including;
  • Vertical powder paint line;
  • Semi – automated packing (tapping & spiral wrap) lines;
  • Paint line conveyor/track;
  • Spray guns reciprocator;
  • A range of liquid pumps, valves and heating elements in pre-treatment and waste water treatment plant; and
  • Polyamide rolling lines and packing machines.
  • Ensuring that all maintenance operations are completed in accordance with company policy and relevant legislation;
  • Ensuring all plant machines and equipment function in line with HSE Legislation, ISO Legislation and Water Services Regulations;
  • Undertaking and maintaining a preventative maintenance programme (PPM) and;
  • Taking a proactive approach to providing improvements resulting in minimising downtime and optimising production;
  • Liaising with and assist internal staff where required, promptly and in a professional manner;
  • Ensuring a customer centric focus within all areas of operational activities, and that effective relationships are maintained with key client contacts;
  • Attending training when required;
  • Undertaking any other duties that may be reasonably requested.


Requirements:

Knowledge & Experience

  • Previous experience of working in a similar role;
  • Appropriate technical qualification, i.e. NVQ/City & Guilds /HNC including a recognised trade specific apprenticeship;
  • Proven experience of being a competent mechanical / electrical fitter;
  • Capable of using a range of software diagnostic tools (PLCs/maintenance software) to identify faults and take appropriate action;
  • Mechanical fabrication skills would be desirable;
  • Proven experience of working in an organised and structured way;
  • Previous experience of working in a fast growing company; and
  • Excellent level of IT literacy.
  • An understanding of pneumatic / mechanical control systems;
  • An understanding of electro / mechanical control systems;
