Position:

JOB PURPOSE

As a member of the Aluk IT community you will be providing the required technical support across all AluK IT systems for the group. The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills, be service oriented, have a broad knowledge of different IT technologies and a positive attitude to ensure the fast and efficient response to any problems.

In addition to these day to day activities the candidate we look for will be an active member of the IT workplace competence center. Together with co-members of the IT Workplace competence center and IT management you will be taking part and lead projects that will continuously shape the IT workplace environment to ensure:

  • Ease of use
  • Remote Administration & manageability
  • Security

Together with IT management you will assist in defining the new standards and future vision on the Aluk IT Workplace. This includes, among others:

  • PC’s & laptops
  • Mobile devices
  • Meeting rooms & video conference systems
  • Device Management
  • Software deployment
  • Asset Management (CMDB)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES

  • To be the first point of contact in responding to IT Service Requests or Incidents, providing support both face-to-face and remotely
  • Responsible for supporting: End-User Devices (e.g. PCs, Mobiles, Printers), Servers, Networks, SQL Databases, VoIP telephony and Applications (e.g. Office 365, Sage 200)
  • To escalate issues or requests where appropriate to specialist third party suppliers and/or management
  • To identify, troubleshoot and resolve IT issues quickly and efficiently
  • To learn internal business processes and be able to prioritise the urgency of tasks
  • To review existing and add new entries to IT knowledgebase documentation
  • To be able to work well on tasks independently as well as part of a team
  • Provide basic end-user guidance and training when required
  • To share technical knowledge and expertise with IT colleagues
  • Lead or take part in projects that will add added value to the Aluk IT Workplace
  • Provide suggestions on improvements that benefit ease of use, security & manageability

Requirements:

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Supporting PCs, Printers/MFDs and Mobile Devices
  • Support of Microsoft Office 365:
  • Word / Excel / PowerPoint
  • Outlook
  • SharePoint
  • User Permissions & Administration (AD)
  • Using a Helpdesk Ticketing System
  • Basic knowledge of Networking (DHCP/IP)
  • Basic knowledge of Windows Server / Hyper-V
  • Basic knowledge of VoIP Telephony
  • Supporting general or bespoke Software Packages

Desirable

  • Knowledge of ERP systems (Sage 200 / S4HANA)
  • Maintaining Asset Management
  • Experience with using SQL Server
  • Experience with using Imaging Solutions
  • Experience of working in a Manufacturing environment
  • Experience with leading or participating in improvement projects, preferably in a multi-country and multi-cultural organisation
