As Maintenance Engineer you are responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives. You will oversee preventive maintenance in an efficient and timely manner for the needs of manufacturing.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support achieving all relevant KPIs and metrics
  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
  • Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.

SKILLS, TRAINING OR SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE

QUALIFICATIONS

  • City & Guilds 224, 16th, 17th, 18th Edition Qualification in Electrical & Mechanical Engineering (essential)
  • Proven working knowledge of Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Engineering (essential)
  • Degree in Electrical & Mechanical engineering (desirable)

EXPERIENCE

  • Electro-mechanical skills: working in an industrial environment maintaining plant machinery (essential)
  • The capacity to understand a range of engineering functions and procedures (essential)
  • Teamworking skills to work cooperatively and liaise with people at all levels (essential)
  • Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills (essential)
  • The confidence to respond positively when under pressure (essential)
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and preventative repairs on all electrical systems, equipment, and machinery (essential)
  • Perform regular tests to new and existing electrical systems, equipment, and machinery, both to spot potential problems and to ensure that systems are operating at their highest possible levels of functionality (essential)
  • Effectively manage campaign maintenance work scopes including shutdown related work (essential)
  • Coordinate and provide input to vendor maintenance plans and vendor work pack process (essential)
  • Provide input to the Asset Information Management System (AIMS) for maintenance planning and scheduling as required (essential)
  • Provide input and support to Shutdown planning process as appropriate for discipline work scopes (essential)
  • Working with pneumatic and hydraulic motorised lifting systems, pipe wash units, maintaining lathe’s in a very busy environment (desirable)
