An FMCG manufacturing company in the Redditch area are looking for a Maintenance Electrician to join their fast-paced engineering team. As a Maintenance Electrician you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the production line and facility by conducting and carrying out regular routine and reactive maintenance. You will work closely with the production and engineering team to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance the clients’ manufacturing processes.

As a Maintenance Electrician your day-to-day responsibilities will consist of.

  • Responding to reactive machinery breakdowns quickly and efficiently and ensure regular routine preventative maintenance is carried out.
  • Communicate unscheduled breakdowns to the Shift Supervisor and Manager and work with the operations department to minimise plant disruption.
  • Identifying root causes and suggesting possible improvements to prevent further breakdowns from occurring.
  • Participate projects.
  • Ensure all activities are carried out within company and legislative health and safety and environmental guidelines reporting any issues.
  • Follow the communicated escalation route for unscheduled plant downtime and minimise downtime by following a good engineering practice.

An exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Electrician with the following.

  • Apprenticeship or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering.
  • IEE 17th or 18th edition desirable.
  • Ideally experience in PLC programming and fault finding
  • Strong electrical fault-finding experience with knowledge of 3 phase, single phase electrical systems and AC/DC motors.
  • Experienced working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment ideally within FMCG.
