Position Summary

We have a brilliant opportunity for a talented individual to join the Logistics team as a Logistics Contract Manager. This role will have a key focus on storage and distribution for the UK Export volume and the NiM pallet contracts.

A day in the life of a Logistics Contract Manager

Your main responsibility will be to ensure outstanding delivery of Third-Party Logistics services such as warehousing, e-commerce and equipment across the NiM network

Key responsibilities include: -
  • Set adequate target values for service and cost and effectively monitor the 3rd Party Logistics teams performance by:
  • Putting in place a structured continuous improvement approach based on the application of Tools, methods (DMAIC) and the implementation of Best Practices
  • Tracking productivity improvement
  • Implementing, monitoring and managing Safety, Health & Environment, Quality and CARE regulations and Best Practices; NCE Goal alignment key meetings
  • Driving initiatives for opportunities to Nestle’s benefit within the relationship with the 3PL
  • Management of the budget for 3rd Party logistics services
  • Ensure communication and collaboration with Customers and other functional departments (Customer Service, Transport, DCs, Factories)
  • Influence Distribution Management, Demand & Supply Planning and Customer Service by regularly providing feedback to continuously improve service and cost, ensure freshness and avoid bad goods
  • Working alongside Procurement to tender, negotiate and award contracts for a range of Logistics Services

What Will Make You Successful

You’ll come from a Logistics or Supply Chain background and can effectively influence people at all levels both internally and externally. Your self-motivation and drive will help you succeed when solving problems in what can often be a complex and demanding environment. This coupled with your proactive nature and the drive for continuous improvement will be key.

Although you will not have any direct reports in this role you will act as a leader within the function and support the development of others around you.

You’ll also have:
  • Detailed knowledge of FMCG supply chain processes.
  • Experience of Budgetary/cost control
  • Previous experience of leading and managing a team.
  • Experience of change management.
