Job OverviewThis post of locum Specialty Doctor in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, based at Musgrove Park Hospital Taunton, is a 12 month fixed term full time post, working alongside the existing Staff Grades and Associate Specialists in a busy Maxillofacial Unit.The post is for a total of 10 sessions, the final job plan will be negotiated depending on the service needs of the department and the ability of the successful candidate. A job plan review will be undertaken three months after starting the in the post.Main duties of the jobThe Maxillofacial Department based in Taunton also provides services at Yeovil District Hospital, and clinics in several community hospitals across Somerset (Bridgwater, West Mendip and Minehead). The Department serves a total catchment population of about 525,000.The successful applicant ideally will be expected to have experience in all aspects of dento-alveolar surgery as well as experience in managing trauma. The successful applicant would be expected to assist in further development of the maxillofacial department at Musgrove Park Hospital and be an active participant in both the clinical and non-clinical teaching of postgraduate staff.Working for our organisationSomerset NHS Foundation Trust is the first NHS Trust on the English mainland to provide partners in Somerset to ensure that we deliver outstanding services that meet the needs of our population.
