The LNG Engine Superintendent performs ship management tasks related to LNG systems, including minor modification, maintenance, and repair projects. Also, it Manages technical safety requirements and quality control on the LNG equipment. Documents and shares all operations to ensure all colleagues remain informed throughout the activities field effort.

  • Good knowledge of the English language is required, the second language is a plus;
  • Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent;
  • At least ten (10) years of relevant working experience, or at least six (6) years working as a supervisor or similar function;
  • Required to work 37,5 hours per week both office and onboard, includes various schedules with hours other than 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and days off;
  • MS Office tools;
  • Familiar with LNG fuel standards, IMO amendments, ISO requirements for marine fuels, conventional onboard treatment, and class regulations (BV, RINA).
  • The following certifications are preferred but not required: STC advance certificate for Gas Fuel Vessels, API 653 Inspector, API 570 Inspector, STI Tank Inspector, AWS Certified Welding Inspector, ASNT Level II or III Certification, Quality Control Management (QCM), Course (USACE or Navy);
  • Manages and oversees all LNG systems-related technical activities directly related to the management and operation of the owned vessels;
  • Carries out ship rides to ensure that vessels are maintained to a high standard and are operated to all current regulations and Company standards;
  • Co-ordinates all LNG system maintenance activities by outside technical service and internal actions by the crew;
  • Co-ordinates any Dry-Dock activities which arise from LNG systems special operations and maintenance program.
  • Reviews and updates the maintenance schedules based on Ship survey findings and results;
  • Ensures that reports and repair specifications issued accurately reflect the condition of the ships and that all repairs are completed to the required standard;
  • Ensures maintenance costs are managed in accordance with agreed accountable budgets and in accordance with financial approvals;
