JOB PURPOSEWorking within the Teaching and Learning Enhancement team, the role holder will proactively work with members of faculty in using our teaching technologies, in particular our innovative live-streaming environments, including XR facilities. This will include the day-to-day management, development and technological ownership.The role holder will lead and manage a small team of Live-streaming Production Coordinators to collaborate with colleagues, members of faculty and external stakeholders to support the innovative design, creation, administration and delivery of best in class online teaching events, ensuring an excellent student experience. They will provide expertise, advice and technical ownership, making decisions to resolve issues quickly and thoroughly to maintain the smooth running of productions. The role holder will be part of a dynamic team that is always working to develop its practices and continuously improve learning materials, so a flexible attitude and willingness to try new approaches and learn new skills is desirable.Duties And ResponsibilitiesThe role holder will manage the service which provides support to colleagues, members of faculty and external stakeholders in achieving excellence in the delivery of live interactive online teaching sessions using our live streaming technology, including XR facilities by establishing and implementing processes for its use, championing and developing innovative practice and providing technical support and development.Pedagogical Practice
  • Understand best practices of live streaming and XR technologies.
  • Raise awareness of the facility across the School and wider University, and advocate for its use.
  • Deliver group and individual training and conduct orientation visits.
  • Interpret the production requirements of members of faculty and staff in using live streaming and XR technologies.
  • Work with stakeholders to design their live sessions.
  • Lead the team to proactively direct and advise members of faculty and staff to optimise their use of live streaming and XR technologies.
  • Facilitate and co-ordinate the work of the team in the creation of training materials, production of subtitles and other assistive media as required.
Innovation and Design
  • Lead in the creation of design documents, storyboards, templates and prototypes that enable members of faculty and staff to visualise activities with live streaming technology and adapt plans according to their feedback and teaching preferences.
  • Lead the Online Events Team to source and adapt new 3D elements and assets for use with the live streaming technology, including XR facilities. This will include developing own skills and capabilities and those of the team.
Technical Development
  • Manage a technical support service on the use of innovative live streaming and XR technologies.
  • Ensure the team can anticipate and fix technical issues in an efficient and appropriate manner, reassuring users and taking ownership. Make suitable decisions to resolve issues and enquiries.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders and suppliers and acts as a point of escalation to ensure the technology runs smoothly.
Research and Development
  • Keep track of new developments and current practices in live streaming and online education.
  • Research new use cases and advise and guide Members of Faculty in developing and implementing new ideas.
Project management, process development and maintenance
  • Design, develop and implement processes to ensure the operational effectiveness of available technologies under the remit of the team. This includes creating booking processes, ensuring enquiries are managed efficiently, anticipating demand and prioritisation.
  • Project manage large scale events to ensure production runs smoothly and learning opportunities are optimised.
  • Ensure continual improvement to workflows and create internal guidance.
  • Manage relationships with potential partners who wish to use the facility.
Development of Projects and Processes
  • Identify, develop and undertake other project opportunities in collaboration with colleagues, where appropriate.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of emerging digital learning products, platforms and solutions. Identify and participate in continuous professional development as appropriate.
  • As required, perform any other duties commensurate with the post.
