Job description

We are working as the internal recruitment partner with our client who have a new vacancy for an experienced Libraries and Archives Manager to join them at an exciting time of positive change and transformation.

The successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to play an integral part in the planning, development and ongoing operation of The Vine, Peterborough’s brand-new Library and Culture Hub, due to launch in 2024.

This state-of-the-art hub will encompass a brand-new city centre library alongside business space, meeting rooms, a learning resource centre, gallery space for artists, a community café, a visitor information hub and much more.

In addition to the Vine project, you will be managing the strategic development of the function for libraries and archives collections. Taking a lead role in managing and developing the service, you will seek out potential grant opportunities creating strong business cases and bids, and support any projects arising from successful funding bids. The postholder will also be a member of City Culture Peterborough’s senior leadership team, being a part of the strategic leadership of the organisation and co-delivering impactful events for local residents, businesses and visitors.

Requirements

Who we are looking for:

To be successful in this role candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Proven experience in the field of library development, or similar public frontline services, preferably including management and operation of projects, funding bids and partnership working.
  • Proven experience of employee management and maintenance of a high performing workforce
  • Significant experience of customer engagement and managing concerns/expectations.
  • Collation and use of data to develop programmes and inform appropriate change.
  • Experience of business planning.
  • Experience of leading change and transformation
  • Previous experience of financial control, revenue budgets and performance monitoring
  • Experience of data collection, interpretation, and reporting
