About The Opportunity:

We now have an exciting opportunity for a talented lawyer to join our Head office team in Runcorn, in the role of Legal Counsel. Reporting into the Company Secretary the role will involve providing commercial and regulatory legal support to Phoenix UK Group, which willinclude an interesting and mixed array of legal work. You will be expected to handle a variety of commercial contract matters in relation to wholesale pharmaceutical distribution. You will be responsible for collaborating with the business at all levels, including Director level, and will be involved in strategic decision making as you will provide advice to the Group on a range of legal matters.

Key responsibilities to include:

  • Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts,
  • Providing advice and guidance on legal issues
  • Supporting on regulatory and pharmacy related compliance, providing legal support on bespoke strategic projects

Who We Want:

  • Experience working in a busy legal department (in house or city law firm)
  • Ability to work and communicate at all levels of the business
  • Ability to provide confidential advice and support to all stakeholders
  • Sound commercial knowledge with the ability to find sound commercial solutions to challenging legal and commercial issues.
  • You will be a solicitor with solid drafting, reviewing and negotiating skills with experience in a good spread of complex and commercial contracts.
  • In-house or secondment experience would be ideal and you will need to have excellent relationship building skills.
  • Pharmacy experience is helpful although not essential
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well with people at all levels
  • Demonstrate high level of competency, knowledge, integrity and discretion
  • Highly motivated and pro-active, with excellent attention to detail
  • Able to organise, prioritise and plan effectively as well as having a desire to learn and develop.
  • UK qualified solicitor (2-4 years PQE) – required
  • University Degree - desirable
