The vacancy

We are seeking an Legal Admin Assistant to join our ’Business and Organisations’ team - supporting our lawyers across the division in areas that include Employment, Company and Commercial.

The role is based from our modern offices in Chandlers Ford (near Southampton), which offers great open plan working and an on-site staff restaurant/coffee shop.

This is a newly created opportunity working as part of a small team comprised of another administrative assistant, and our legal secretaries. This team provides comprehensive administrative support to our solicitors, partners and Clients. The team structure allows people to build long-lasting and strong working relationships with their colleagues, and enables good support for each of the team to ensure an even distribution of workload.

This is a varied role and as such, you’ll be involved in helping the team achieve excellent outcomes for our Clients through:

  • File management - opening and closing Client accounts and assisting with the necessary legal checks including AML (anti-money laundering). Collating and retaining accurate records and logs of Client information.
  • Document production - creation of letters from written or audio notes, ensuring accurately typed and formatted to a high standard
  • Diary management - supporting the secretarial team with ensuring that client and internal team members diaries are organized and up to date
  • Client communication - being the first point of contact for our Clients, providing regular updates on their matters and assisting with ad-hoc queries and questions
  • General administration - helping with general administration and assisting our teams deliver outstanding client service

This is a great opportunity for individuals with some administrative experience who are keen to develop new skills. We offer excellent opportunities for personal development and this role offers the breadth of activity to really help individuals to learn new skills.

What we Look For

We are seeking an individual with great communication skills, strong attention to detail and an eagerness to help others. You will may have some previous administrative experience and whilst this might have been gained within the law industry, it’s not essential. Alternatively, you may be a school or college leaver, seeking to start a rewarding career in administration. We can also offer the right individual further sponsorship for study and/or an Apprenticeship in office Administration.

We are a friendly team, and look for people who enjoy working with others. You’ll have great attention to detail, good Microsoft Outlook and Word skills, and enjoy client communication (by both phone and email).
