About The Role

Here at Babcock International we are looking to recruit a Lecturer to be become part of our team of Lecturers in Common Engineering Applications at our college in Lyneham. As the Lecturer (with a good knowledge of electronics and ideally at least one specialisation in Radar, Electronic control, Telecommunication, or Avionic Systems) your role will be to develop subjects towards maximising and enhancing the DCTT EMTC, required for trainees to meet the academic standards for career course training.

You will to develop, prepare and deliver lectures on course modules in the wider Common Engineering Applications Department in support of the DCTT EMTC including: the writing of lecture guides; student précis and handouts; laboratory worksheets and to prepare relevant teaching material

As part of the role we will put you through the L4 Teaching qualification and offer further training and progression opportunities.

What do I need to do the role?

You will hold a minimum of an equivalent to a HNC/ HND or equivalent in Electrics or Electronics or in a relevant engineering discipline for subjects being taught discipline for subjects being taught (General electronics, or Radar, Electronic Control, Telecommunications, or Avionic Systems). For Foundation level (L1 – L3) academic modules.

We would like you to have a good knowledge of Electronics that you can pass on to your students, and have the ability to develop new teaching material. It is preferable if you have good knowledge of telecoms networks, MW, radar or controls engineering.

Lastly you will hold excellent communications and interpersonal skills and be able to coach and mentor students to achieve their best effectively.
