Lecturer in Physics (bio/nano-photonics)

The Department of Physics at the University of Bath is seeking to appoint a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Experimental Photonics.

Applications in all areas of existing strength within Experimental Photonics will be welcome; those in the area of overlap between photonics and bio/nano-science, especially if the research has a potential relevance to optical fibre technology, ultrafast lasers or healthcare, are particularly welcome.

The Lecturer will contribute to and expand the capabilities of the department in this research area, and be a full member of the Department.

About the role:

This role offers an ambitious and excellent candidate the chance to advance their career in a supportive and dynamic environment.

You will become a part of the vibrant community of researchers in optics and photonics within the Department.

Research programmes revolve around collaboration, shared equipment and facilities, and shared learning, streamlining the process of getting new research programmes off the ground.

The role is to establish an independent research activity, in an area aligned with both University and funder priorities.

Experimental Photonics is already an important element of several existing programmes but this position will broaden that interest.
