The Learning and Development Business Manager post is new to our team and will lead the coordination and integration of the three clinical education teams at Chesterfield Royal Hospital.

There are currently three distinct teams working collaboratively which facilitate and deliver programs of educational activity. To ensure success, this collaboration must continue and be enhanced to transform into integrated governance and budgets to optimise the management of resources and activity.

The immediate priority for this role will be to assess and understand the financial mechanisms which underpin the delivery of education. The post-holder will work with all stakeholders to develop effective, transparent, and timely processes ensuring the teams are held accountable, both for internal and external purposes.

This role is initially offered as a 12-month temporary contract/secondment to allow full scoping of the role and development of a substantive job description.

Support and challenge the Team Leads in all their working relationships across the trust and with a multitude of external partners. However, the post-holder will also be required to demonstrate autonomous leadership, assisting in breaking down barriers when traditional siloed working practices persist and holding all team leads accountable for their decision making, individual and collegiate performance.

Lead, manage and be accountable for educational budgets with multiple income streams, from a variety of sources and with diverse objectives. A priority would be to establish a summary of baseline spending and distribution of monies across the organisation. The post-holder would need to support ensuring all spending can be quality assured and effectively reported upon both for internal and external purposes.

Assess the need for, and institute structural and cultural change by ensuring the whole organisation understands the work of the Education teams and how this supports organisationally priorities. Assisting team leads in managing their sub teams and resources as effectively as possible and developinga strategy to ensure that Chesterfield Royal Hospital has an adequate and future proof physical infrastructure to deliver all its learning and developmental needs
