Leakage Technician

Starting salary £23,600 per annum

12 month Fixed Term Contract

Location - Grantham

40 Hours a week

Our top priority is to find and fix any leaks in our system – and to help customers plug leaks at home and at work too. Every day we have 300 people finding and fixing leaks and spend £14 million each year driving down leakage.

What will you be doing?

As a Leakage Technician in the Grantham area, your role is a crucial, without you our water supply would suffer and there would be a huge impact for our customers.

We are looking for you to carry out a full range of leak detection activities whilst providing a first class service to our customers. Responding to alarms and changes in statistical data, you’ll have a fully equipped van and travel to the areas within the water network where potential leaks have been identified in order to resolve them within agreed timescales.

This is a reactive and proactive role; you’ll support with planned maintenance and be the first on the scene to repair unexpected leaks. Developing your leak detection skills everyday, you’ll carry out sounding, correlating and using Enigma Correlating Noise Loggers to accurately detect water leaks on our network.

What does it take to be a Leakage Technician?

You’ll be enthusiastic, hardworking and ambitious with a real desire to drive your career forward. You’ll need five GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade A* to C including English and Mathematics and have a passion for hands-on work.

Keen to learn new things with excellent customer service skills, you’ll be a good communicator with a desire to make a solid contribution to your team.

Ideally you will have previous operational leakage experience including leak detection, resolving customer supply pipe leaks, distribution and leakage repair, however full training will be given. A willingness to work at nights and weekends is essential to this role.
