Roles and Responsibilities
Technical lead:
Provide senior technical oversight and support in your area of expertise.
Encourage development of more junior engineers in your area of expertise. (Mentoring, training etc.)
Advance the state of the art in your area of expertise.
Promote, use and help advance processes and standards for your area of expertise.
Advise leadership on technical matters in your area of expertise.
Provide project leadership where required.
Systems and mechanical development:
Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This work requires proven mechanical engineering skills and good knowledge of software and/or electrical engineering
Utilizes in-depth engineering knowledge, analytical thinking and technical experience to deliver innovative products in a challenging environment
Has knowledge of best practices on how to deliver robust products and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
Willingness to challenge the normal way of doing things and has proven ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to develop innovative solutions to real work problems.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to use multiple internal and external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
General roles and responsibilities
Conceptual or theoretical activities related to integration of electronic engineering with computer sciences to design and develop computer systems and other technological devices; or conceptual or theoretical activities related to the theoretical foundations of information and computation and their implementation and application in computer systems. Includes work focused on computation of specific results; properties of computational problems; challenges in implementing computations
Includes direct people management responsibility including staffing and performance development. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.
Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
Required Qualifications
For roles outside of the USA- This role requires advanced experience in the Engineering/Technology & Mechanical Component. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience). For roles in USA - Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).
Desired Characteristics
Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
