Job content

Software Engineers aren’t typically known for their communication skills.

Which is probably which this role won’t be for everybody. Away from your hands-on responsibilities, which is the core focus of this position, you’ll be leading a small team (in terms of coding, not HR/management) and have a fair amount of engagement with 3rd party stakeholders.

You’ll be joining a team in Coalville, but you’ll be able to work from home for the majority if you wanted. Probably showing your face in the office at least once a week, but you may have to go and visit a customer on the odd occasion.

You’ll spend your time building some of their newest products, which will eventually be operational all over the world. To hit the ground running, you’ll need to show a background working with .NET Core, C#, Entity Framework, SQL, Microsoft Visual Studio & Microsoft Azure DevOps.

You’d also put yourself in a great position to influence things and have your voice heard. There’s nothing worse than feeling just like a number within a large organisation, which is why they encourage their team to come up with new ideas – a high number of which have been implemented across various products.

Salary wise, the role pays £50,000-£60,000, there could be some flex, but I can’t imagine a lot. You’d benefit from really flexible working hours, a great benefits package and plenty opportunities for internal progression.

If the role looks of interest, reach out to Jack Leeming @ Optima Dev for a chat – feel free to connect on LinkedIn – we don’t need an updated CV just yet.
