Overview
As Lead Product Designer, you will manage and mentor our team of designers, alongside being the voice of user-centred design and strategy across the business.
You’ll mix being hands-on with providing guidance and direction - discovering the needs of our consumer and dealer customers, designing effective solutions, as well as implementing Design Thinking methods and ways of working for the Design team.
With the team expanding, you will grow the design team and build out our research capabilities.
You’ll collaborate on strategy directly with leaders in Product, Engineering and Analytics, giving you further opportunity for progression as the role broadens.
This is a key role that will help shape the future of the team.

Manage, coach and inspire a team of Product Designers
Lead and oversee Product Design across the business, working closely with the Head of Product and other Product and Tech leaders on the future strategy for the Design team
Build a strong design culture, guiding the day to day creative direction and outputs of the design team. Set the long term strategy for design direction and experience.
Be hands on across a project life-cycle from discovery through to delivery, using evidence to support your decision making
Introduce processes and methods that enable the team to move fast with rigorous thinking.
Influence and gain support of peers and stakeholders, ensuring that our customers are at the heart of what we do
Grow the culture of the Product Design team and expand the importance of Product Design across the business.
Partner closely with Product Management, Engineering, Content, Brand and Marketing to inform product requirements, software roadmaps and strategic planning
Grow and evolve the team, hiring and retaining top talent
Several years of experience as a Lead or Senior Product Designer, working within a Product environment.
You’ve managed and mentored other team members. You guide on a daily basis and support longer term growth and personal development
You frame your thinking around problems, using research and data as evidence. You apply design thinking through a UX process.
You explore multiple solutions, testing your ideas with users and iterating based on feedback.
You’re great at creating and running workshops and other collaboration sessions in a remote environment.
You seek out the opinions and feedback from others to broaden your mindset. You love collaborating with other stakeholders and can build alignment towards a combined purpose.
A great communicator who can articulate their decisions in person or in a presentation.
You’re cool headed and resilient.
You’ve got a strong portfolio with case studies that show your design thinking alongside visual design skills.
You’ve got top class Figma skills. Or you’re awesome at Sketch and are willing to learn Figma. Experience using a variety of tools for research and design - eg. Usertesting, Google Analytics, Hotjar, etc.
