Lead Planner

Due to our strong current workload and future projects pipeline we are currently looking for talented and motivated Lead Planner with a genuine passion for civil engineering and management of resources to join our Highways teams across the UK.

Our highway engineering teams are recognised industry leaders and operate across several markets including the strategic road network, local roads and private developments through a series of investment programmes, professional service frameworks and bespoke project commissions. We work for a wide range of clients including national government agencies, local authorities, private developers and contractors. We use the latest design software and techniques to produce innovative, efficient and sustainable design solutions for our clients.

What does the role involve?

You will play a leading role in the delivery of highways projects within multidisciplinary design teams by working closely with our clients to understand their needs and ensuring they are met. You will be responsible for:

• Collaboratively developing and maintaining a robust detailed project programme in accordance with the contract requirements.
• Ensuring the programme captures the full scope and considers constraints and resources.
• Identification of risks and opportunities, monitoring of critical path and key milestones.
• Ensuring consistency in programmes across the Highways business.
• Managing and mentoring colleagues, liaising with project team members.

To be successful in this role you’ll possess:

• A relevant professional qualification eg IEng, CEng, APM or Chartered Project Professional (or be working towards).
• Knowledge and understanding of NEC4 Professional Services Contract (PSC).
• Relevant highways experience and a successful record of project delivery.
• Excellent time management and problem solving skills with the ability to develop solutions.
• The ability to gain insight beyond a customer’s immediate need to identify opportunities that benefit the customer through meaningful and productive relationships.
