This is a 12 month fixed term contract, full time position at based at St Margaret’s Prep, Calne. While the job is mainly based at St Margaret’s School, it will include some time at the senior school St Mary’s which is situated on the same site, thus ensuring that the IT support is consistent across both. This will have the added advantage of allowing a broader experience of working in the educational sector

DAILY DUITES:

  • Servicing of laptops and desktops
  • Staff a helpdesk
  • Support staff in classrooms when necessary
  • Troubleshoot pupil, teaching staff and support staff IT problems
  • Assist in the maintenance of the school LAN and WLAN
  • Assist the IT Systems Manager in the maintenance and development of new IT services
  • Maintain a full written record of all work
  • Maintain the IT Asset Database
  • Printer management and consumable stock control
  • Provide IT support for regular school events

 

KEY SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of Windows 7-10, MacOS and iOS
  • TCP/IP networks
  • Replacing hardware components in PCs and laptops
  • Communicate well and be able to deal well with people of all walks of life
  • Be independent, willing to think through problems and advise on suitable courses of action
  • Enjoy working in a challenging and often demanding environment

DESIRABLE SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy
  • Windows Server 2008 to 2016 R2
  • Previous IT support experience
  • Various aspects of iPad Management
