Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, along with Yeovil District Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, are seeking an exceptional collaborative, strategic leader to join us as our Chief Information Officer (CIO) as we embark on the next phase of our digital transformation journey across acute, community and mental health services in Somerset.

We have strong track record of supporting digital transformation across the County across numerous collaborative projects including Global Digital Exemplar programme and the development of the shared care record. We at an exciting point in our integration in Somerset.

We are currently developing our plans and business case for the merger of Somerset Foundation Trust and Yeovil District Hospital which is planned for 2023 which digital plays a major part in the delivery of our clinical strategy and transformation programme.

We have an exciting digital vision approved by the Trust Boards which includes the development of the business case, procurement, and implementation of a new EPR spanning the range of services which will be provided by the Trusts.

We are looking for someone who is an inspiring leader of teams, great at engaging with clinicians, operational, and technical people alike, and someone who can influence and collaborate on a system scale.

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) will be responsible for developing and delivering a strategy and vision to ensure that the digital systems, structure and infrastructure across the Trust are fit for purpose for the delivery of healthcare over the next 5 years .

The role will require significant involvement in organisational development and strategic leadership and ensuring new ways of working, ensuring that we maximise the use of technology across all our clinical services and corporate functions, Please see the Job Description and the Persons Specification for further details about the job role.
