Opportunity to join a great team in this new role, based out of our Aston Office in Birmingham.

Your Role

The key function of the role is to work within the Intermodal team based in Aston, Birmingham, the newly formed role will focus on the haulage planning and execution of export haulage throughout the UK. Your day to day activities will involve working closely with the Sea Logistics branch network, shipping lines and Intermodal suppliers, developing good working relationship with all and to deliver best in class service to our Customers.

Your Responsibilities

  • Forward planning of export haulage.
  • Ensuring that haulage suppliers have all the information required to carry out the planned haulage, ie container release, load references and vessel information.
  • Proactive monitoring and communication with suppliers and internal customers advising in advance of any delays that may impact export loading’s or containers meeting planned vessel departures.
  • To ensure that all transport moves are updated in Tops with agreed charge to customer and payment to supplier.
  • Actively seek to increase the number of export moves managed by Intermodal.
  • Validate, notify and raise charges and cost accruals for any out of scope haulage charges.
  • To be the main point of contact for export haulage for suppliers and internal customers.
  • Support Sea Logistics branches with operational advice and assistance as required.

Your Skills and Experiences

  • Good industry knowledge of UK container transport operations covering both road and rail.
  • Experience of working within transport planning operations or export Sea Logistics.
  • Good understanding of UK Geography.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, able to communicate efficiently with haulage supplier’s internal customers and colleagues.
  • Understand and respect the company confidentiality and compliance regulations (e.g. Code of Conduct)
  • Good team player
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to self-motivate
  • Hard working and comfortable working under pressure
