Senior Product Owner – Salary - Competitive

A bit about the job:
Aviva Zero is a new greenfield Personal Lines insurer set up to be the best insurer in the market.
The business will initially be focused on car insurance distributed through price comparison sites.
It will also help advance Aviva’s sustainability agenda, and our initial product includes carbon offsetting features.

We have been given a significant investment and have built our own flexible technology stack to enable us to execute continuous change based on learnings from state-of-the-art analytics.
This role will be a key part of the Aviva Zero product team, with responsibility for developing our products, customer experience and journeys. The role will mix continuous improvement and optimisation, development of new features and the longer-term product roadmap, all with the aim of delivering brilliant customer and commercial outcomes.
What you will be doing:
  • Shape and prioritise change demand and understand customer and commercial dynamics
  • Lead a delivery squad and support them in delivering brilliant business and customer outcomes
  • Work collaboratively with Digital and UX experts to develop great customer experiences, ensuring the appropriate user testing is undertaken
  • Accountability for prioritising, planning and refining the backlog in collaboration with the delivery teams and broader stakeholders
  • Balancing delivery priorities across key projects and areas of continuous improvement
  • Drive best practice in product ownership, agile and progressive ways of working
How you will be working:
  • Key member of the Aviva Zero product team, working closely with delivery teams and broader stakeholders such as pricing, UW and ops
  • Work collaboratively with legal, risk and compliance stakeholders to ensure the necessary approvals are obtained for all product/feature deliveries
  • Take ownership of business, digital and customer performance; pro-actively seeking opportunities to optimise outcomes
  • Pro-actively use data and insights to inform decision making
  • Inquisitive mindset, with desire to deliver marginal improvements
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
  • Knowledge of General Insurance market in the UK.
  • Understanding of the drivers of performance and a passion for delivering excellent customer outcomes.
  • Strong team player who can translate ideas and concepts into deliverable plans within a complex regulatory framework.
  • Leadership and coaching of cross functional teams.
  • Experience of delivering business change (new products, features and journey enhancements) as a product owner, within a fast-paced agile environment. Experience of working with Agile methodology (essential)
  • Setting up best in class delivery squads and improving ways of working, output and outcomes over time
  • Experience of risk management and experience of investigating and resolving customer issues.
  • Ability to work with and manage senior stakeholders across the business
