I am recruiting for a specialist Compensation Accountant position that is a unique opportunity presented within the London Insurance Market on behalf of an Insurance Intermediary. The successful candidate will have experience of Compensation Accounting specifically related to LTIP/Bonus valtuations and accruals. Reporting into the Financial Controller, you will be expected to act as a conduit between Finance and Reward.

Main Responsibilities:
– Calculation of Annual Bonus pools.
– Accounting & Valuation of LTIPs including current period calculation, future forecasting and appropriate accruals that are maintained on the Balance Sheet.
– Reconciliation of Compensation related accounts including payroll and benefits for numerous legal entities.
– Responsibility for month-end reporting to Management Team.
– Review and Report upon Balance Sheet/P&L entries and explain any variances that may arise.
– Support the Financial Controller in assessing compensation related liabilities to support forecasts and divisional business plans.
– Ensure Compensation Accounting currency exposure is managed and reported on.
– Lead the Annual Audit in relation to all Compensation Accounting matters.
– Review UK Partner profit-share allocations with close alignment with the Payroll and Tax departments.
– Drive continous improvement of calculation models, processes and controls to achieve operational excellence.

Candidate Specification:
– Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
– Experience of working in Compensation Accounting/Analysis is required.
– Proven ability to implement new policies and procedures.
– Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly charged environment.
