PwC is looking for an experienced, credible and highly motivated Senior Manager to join the Financial Services Business Development team in the Sales & Marketing function to support the Insurance industry. You will require excellent influencing and powerful communication skills in order to be credible and to be able to challenge the Insurance senior management. A vital part of the role is a thorough understanding of the strategic business drivers for PwC, the Financial Services sector (in particular the Insurance sector) and our clients. You must be creative and innovative and be able to effectively communicate key business messages to a diverse audience. Excellent project management skills are required as is a proven track record in opportunity management and sales effectiveness. The jobholder will report to the Sales & Marketing leadership team via the leader for FS Sales & Marketing, and be part of the Business Development capability. They will also report to the Insurance Leader of Industry on day to day delivery of the role.

In this role, the successful candidate will work with key stakeholders to support go to market strategy and business priorities, build brand profile, develop networks, relationships, define propositions, and drive engagement with key buyer groups and accounts.

This role will be responsible for:

  • Strategic and network development

  • To be the strategic advisor to Insurance Leader on sector growth plans, market opportunities, client issues and channels to market.

  • Drive alignment of all activity, people and opportunities focussing on growth for the sector.

  • Building external relationships with key industry bodies and opinion formers creating an external footprint

  • Drive and develop a portfolio of insurance accounts

  • Establish and implement a marketing and business development strategy to manage a portfolio of insurance accounts, working with Lead Client Partners (LCP) and their account teams.

  • Seen as a leader in driving the Insurance portfolio forward on a consistent basis, often chairing pipeline meetings and calls – expected to challenge account teams on involving the firmwide team, and ensuring the insurance leadership and LCP have visibility to each new opportunity.

  • Attend client, prospect and/or intermediary events. Ensure effective follow up on these events.

  • Lead client feedback programme for the portfolio and ensure the messages and learnings from client feedback are shared and acted upon to help increase opportunity conversion and client satisfaction.

  • Drive key propositions and services for Insurance

  • Work with other Sales & Marketing capabilities and those in Insurance to develop and drive key propositions to generate revenue for Insurance and support the firm’s key priorities

  • Work with other Sales & Marketing teams to ensure that the firm’s insight, thought leadership and marketing campaigns are properly targeted, driven and deliver return on investment.

  • Support, drive and deliver key national sales campaigns when required.

  • Be accountable and able to demonstrate the relationship management, revenue conversion, return on investment (ROI) and speed to market activities that you have undertaken.

  • Lead internal Insurance community

  • Lead the Insurance Working Group to develop a connected community, sharing information, issues and best practice.

  • Contribute ideas and insights to the FS community within PwC.


Skills and experience required

  • Excellent project management with strong relationship skills, ideally with experience of a professional services / Partnership environment.

  • Strong data analytics skill set, with experience of Salesforce, Einstein Analytics, Tableau and/or Alteryx.

  • Sound understanding of targeting and opportunity management with the ability to implement both strategic and tactical initiatives.

  • A sound business understanding - commercially and risk aware coupled with an ability to move from strategic to tactical delivery.

  • Team player; able to actively contribute and participate across the Market & Industry Driver function.

  • The ability to build relationships, communicate and influence a wide range of people at a senior level.

  • The ability to organise and run metrics driven decision making forums with gravitas

  • A dynamic, self-starter who seeks to innovate and can work effectively as part of a virtual team.

This role sits within the Sales capability, part of Sales & Marketing, PwC’s centralised support function, and covers all aspects of professional services marketing, sales support and business development. bWe work together with the Clients and Markets Executive to build and sustain competitive advantage.
