Job Title: Selborne IT Support Manager
Location: Torpoint, Plymouth

Summary of Role:

The Selborne IT Support Manager role is responsible to the Raytheon Training Equipment Service Manager for leading the provision and sustainment of IT systems to support the delivery of apprenticeship and naval training within the Selborne contract.

Main Duties:

Provide leadership and management of several IT Support Teams that provide the Raytheon element of Selborne IT Support Service with the Selborne contract. Ensuring that IT systems and associated training equipment, including supported AV are correctly maintained and repaired to enable Selborne contract performance standards to be met and the delivery of naval training is maintained.

The roles main duties will include but not be limited to:
  • Lead and manage Raytheon, Selborne IT Support Teams based in HMS Collingwood and HMS Raleigh.
  • Act as lead IT specialist and single point of contact for Raytheon delivered IT support within the Selborne contract.
  • Engage as appropriate with Raytheon Training Equipment Availability Co-ordinators and Project Managers within the Selborne contract to ensure delivery of IT services.
  • Liaise with external 3rd Party IT support providers to maintain training output.
  • Liaison with ISAS to ensure compliance.
  • Provide Technical SME support to Raytheon managers as required.
  • Manage Selborne IS hardware and software.
    • Manage the IT change management process and ensure where appropriate, that changes are adequately reflected in the required documentation.
    • Engage with the ISAS where change will impact accreditation or increase risk
    • Manage Issued Property and Public Stores Accounting systems for IT equipment.
    • Conduct initial investigations of IT related Issued Property discrepancies.
    • Control the purchasing software and hardware iaw MoD requirements and processes.
  • Ensure systems compliance with Company and MoD regulations.
    • Contribute to and review of Selborne SyOps for IT systems and associated peripherals that are used within the Selborne contract.
    • Support the accreditation of systems required to deliver the Selborne contract.
    • Implementation of MoD Defence Instruction Notices (DINs), MoD Certs, JSPs as necessary.
    • Report to Selborne ISAS all suspect or actual security breaches.
    • Ensure all reasonable steps are taken to adequately protect Selborne supported IT systems which Raytheon are responsible for.
  • Record the implementation of equipment maintenance on existing systems.
Ensure Company health, safety and environmental procedures are implemented and complied with at all times.

Candidate Requirements:

Essential:

Detailed knowledge and practical experience of:
  • The successful candidate must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role.
  • Qualified to ITIL Foundation level.
  • Qualified academically or vocationally in relevant IT subject.
  • Previous experience of managing MoD IT systems.
  • Previous MoD IT system administration experience.
  • Previous experience of fault finding, diagnosis and repair of IT systems.
  • Demonstrable experience of applying IT principles practically in educational or training environments.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Able to obtain Security Cleared (SC) clearance.

Desirable:

Should have some experience in:
  • IOSH Managing Safely/NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent.
  • Recent experience of working within Defence/Industry collaborative projects.
  • Experience in the promotion of equality and diversity within a multi-cultural environment.
  • A working knowledge of MoD regulations and procedures relating to equipment maintenance and lifecycle management.
