Hays Technology are currently recruiting a IT Support Engineer to join a large pharmaceutical organisation based in the Yorkshire area.

Your new role

At Hays Technology, we are looking for an enthusiastic and determined IT Support Engineer to provide 1st and 2nd line support within the helpdesk. This role will be shift based; 6:30am – 1:30pm, 8:30am – 5pm, 1:30pm – 8pm. You will also be required to work one in seven Saturdays. Some of these shifts will be available to work remotely.

You will be assisting the helpdesk team in the running and managing of all IT requests via portal, phone, email or onsite, ensuring the tickets are logged, categorised, and prioritised correctly, providing a first time fix wherever possible. You will be expected to manage your own workload through good time management and prioritisation skills, along with assigning new incidents.

What you’ll need to succeed
  • Experience of working on a 1st and 2nd line IT support helpdesk
  • Experience of ‘hands on support’, working on a variety of incidents and service requests
  • Experience of working with predefined incident and change management processes
  • Working knowledge of the following applications and hardware: Microsoft Operating Systems, Active Directory, Server & Desktop management, User Devices & printers
  • Ability to organise own workload to business priorities
  • Ability to work in a team, whilst being accountable for own actions
