We have an exciting opportunity for an IT savvy individual to join us permanently as our new IT Officer in/around the Manchester area on a full-time basis. Golden Lane Housing (GLH) is undergoing a period of change as we undertake the transition to a Community Benefit Society in 2022. As a result of this change GLH will be taking responsibility for its own IT service.
Working alongside the Business Systems Manager and Business Systems Analyst, the IT Officer is responsible for supporting with any 1st/2nd line IT issues for all GLH employees whilst delivering exceptional service to internal customers who use the wide-ranging technology provided by the Association. They will assist with the development, maintenance and training for the Active H Housing management system and will be expected to be a subject expert. The role varies from setting up computers to providing advice and support on software installations and fixes and Hardware (Laptops, Desktops, Thin terminals, Computer peripherals, Mobile devices, Network components, etc).
The IT Officer will be able to offer support and training to GLH staff in all areas of day to day use of Office 365 and ensure staff can get remote access to work required. They will help develop and manage a secure data storage process and policy and assist the Business Systems manager with ongoing development and growth of GLH’s IT services. SQL knowledge/experience would be desirable.
The successful candidate must have:
- Microsoft Office 365 knowledge
- Knowledge of IT hardware such as Laptops, Desktop PCs, Printers, Tablets, etc.
- Experience of using ’Active H’ asset system (desirable)
- Knowledge of MS Office 2007,2010 & 2013
- Previous experience of working in an IT Helpdesk support role
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders
- Ability to communicate clearly with people at all levels
- A positive can do attitude and receptive to change
This role is working Monday to Friday and will be based in our Manchester office.
