About the role 

Here at DS Smith we are looking for an experienced IT Business Partner to join our North Paper Division which consists of 3 large scale paper production facilities in the UK (Kent), Netherlands (De Hoop) and France (Rouen). The Business Partner role is a key position in the organisation, ensuring business objectives are understood and the IT strategy is aligned.

As our IT Business Partner you will be the strategic interface between IT and the business. You will have the goal of Digitally enabling and delivering IT transformation in our Mills, driving efficiencies through Production, Operations and Logistics. You will bring knowledge in Production, Operations and Logistic orientated technologies, orchestrating the value this will deliver for the business and our customers. In doing so, you will take ownership and accountability of IT performance and the delivery of IT Services, Portfolio, Risk and the Budget.

Reporting into our Supply Engine IT Director, you will be part of the business Leadership Team, representing both IT and the business respectively. As part of the role you will also build strong relationships with those on the Mill floor, liaising with operators / Team Leaders to extract and develop IT improvements across the site.

Location is flexible but the role will involve regular travel to sites.

About you  

Minimum requirements: 

· Experienced IT Business Partner or a similar role

· Experienced in delivering IT Operations and Strategic Change Programmes

· Strong knowledge of Production, Operations and/or Logistic technology capabilities

· Experience of working in a multi-national matrix organisation

· Commercially astute with the ability to identify value for the business

Preferred requirements:

· Previous experience of the Paper industry would be advantageous
