Pay: KR3 (£18,039 FTE)

Start Date: Sept 2021 (subject to DBS being returned)

Thistle Hill Academy are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and hardworking Intervention Teaching Assistant to support the children in our Specialist Resource Provision. We are looking for experienced and resilient teaching assistants to support pupils with Behaviour Emotional & Social Needs in our SRP.

The SRP at is a specialist provision for approximately 12 children. Within this provision, each pupil has an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP).

The ideal candidate will be hard-working, flexible and adaptable with good literacy and numeracy skills. Previous experience of working with children with educational needs is desirable but above all, we would like someone with a calm and positive approach to working with children with varying levels of special educational needs. We are fully committed to ensuring that pupils within this area of special need are integrated as fully as possible into our schools and that they feel as highly valued as all other pupils.

We are looking for someone who can bring motivation, energy and excellent communication skills to the role. You will play a vital role in supporting our children with their educational, physical, emotional and social development, and play an active role alongside the teacher in shaping the learning of the class.

30hrs/43 paid weeks (term time + 5 weeks holiday).

Pro rata’d salary on KR3 (30hrs @ 43 paid weeks) will be approximately £12,000.00 gross

This role is attached to funding and therefore temporary and subject to annual review

Thistle Hill Academy is a Primary School in Minster on the Isle of Sheppey. The school opened in 2015 and has been under the leadership of The Stour Academy Trust since 2017.
