We are seeking a Engineering Internal Sales and Account Manager who has experience with heavy industry products. The primary objective of this role is to build strong relationships with customers, sales teams, and agents to secure profitable orders.

The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately interpreting engineering customer requirements and offering appropriate solutions from our product range. You will also ensure the timely and accurate entry of orders into the SAP system, as well as develop key customer accounts in collaboration with the Internal Sales Manager and Product Manager. The Sales and Account Manager will occasionally visit customers and provide expertise and support to the team as needed. The role will be idea for a Project Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer or Applications Engineer who want to progress into a commercial role.

Responsibilities:

Build and maintain relationships: Establish and cultivate strong relationships with customers, external/internal sales teams, and agents to effectively secure profitable orders.

Interpret customer requirements: Accurately understand customer needs and provide suitable solutions from our product range.

Order processing: Ensure the correct entry of orders into the SAP system upon receipt, and organise handover and/or kick-off meetings within the specified timeframe outlined in the contract delivery schedule.

Key account development: Collaborate with the Internal Sales Manager and Product Manager to develop key customer accounts and maximise sales opportunities.

Customer visits: Conduct customer visits when necessary to enhance relationships and understand their evolving needs.

Team collaboration: Work effectively as a team member, offering expertise in control and choke valve solutions, and providing assistance and coverage to colleagues as required.

Process adherence: Ensure compliance with processes and procedures in accordance with the Quality Management System.

Additional duties: Perform any other tasks as required to meet the company’s needs.

Continuous development: Actively participate in training sessions, seminars, and ongoing development opportunities to stay updated on technical advancements.

Budgeting and forecasting support: Assist in the budgeting and forecasting processes, contributing to the preparation and delivery of annual Input, Sales & Profit budgets aligned with Weir’s product range strategy expectations.

Sales optimisation: Execute specific sales plans and strategies to maximise existing and potential business, making recommendations for sales, product, and pricing strategies.

Customer expansion: Maintain a strong customer interface to increase sales to existing accounts and attract new customers.

Measurements:

Achieve year-on-year growth targets through the budget and forecasting process.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Proven experience in sales and account management, preferably in a technical or industrial product environment.

Strong understanding of customer relationship building and sales strategies.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with customers and internal stakeholders.

Proficient in using SAP or similar order processing systems.

Knowledge of control and choke valve products and applications is desirable.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, displaying flexibility and adaptability.

Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.

Commitment to adhering to quality management systems and safety standards.

Willingness to travel occasionally for customer visits and business meetings.
