About the role

Internal Communications Adviser

Fixed Term, Full Time

Up to £38,251 per annum

Location: Chelmsford

Working Style: Anywhere worker

Closing Date: 9th May 2023

Please note this opportunity will be offered as an 18 month fixed-term contract or secondment.

We’re looking for an Internal Communications Adviser to join our Communications & Marketingteam who will be responsible for delivering communications activities for the Social Care Platform Programme (SCPP). SCPP will transform the way social care practitioners support adults, children and their families in Essex through the implementation of a new case management system.

Sitting within the internal communications team you will have the support of colleagues dedicated to corporate internal communications and will work to their overarching strategy and best practice guidance.

You will be responsible for the SCPP communications strategy and delivery. You will need to plan communication strategies and campaigns that look to inform and change behaviours to support the successful implementation of the new case management system.

You will need to write and produce online and offline content including videos, events and work closely with key stakeholders and partners.

We’re looking for creative thinking in how we communicate to and engage a busy workforce, particularly frontline social workers who are time poor, and not always desk based.

About you

Along with experience working on internal communications campaigns and change communications and a proven track record in an internal communications role in a large complex organisation, you’ll have a degree in a relevant subject area (or equivalent) and evidence of continuing professional development.

Experience working in a political or public sector environment would be beneficial, as the expectation is the successful candidate will hit the ground running.

You will have evidence of where you have used data and insight to shape your communications approaches and solid measures of the impact of your activity.

Finally, you will need to be a good networker, collaborator and comfortable presenting and sharing your plans with stakeholders of varying seniority.
