To lead, develop and control the end to end supply chain from strategic material sourcing, customer order intake through to delivery, ensuring the highest levels of quality, on time delivery at the lowest cost and optimal cash flow and optimizing working capital

Job Purpose

To deliver products and services to our customers on time, in the right quantity and quality at competitive cost and best cashflow for the business. Scope includes full ownership for group planning, strategic procurement, data, inventory, warehousing and logistics. Leader of the group supply chain team of around 15 staff.

Reporting And Management Structure

Reporting to the Operations Director. Leader of the Purchasing Team

Key Responsibilities

All planning and sourcing activities to satisfy customer demand and level load/sequence production to achieve the greatest level of efficiency, highest stock turns and optimal cashflow and working capital.

Lead procurement strategy to establish strategic supply partnerships in which materials are bought for competitive costs, at shortest possible lead times, at attractive terms re cash flow : on time, to the right quality and achieving the lowest levels of inventory without impacting customer delivery. Lead all strategic supplier negotiations and development. (Includes all direct and indirect materials and services)

Responsible for inventory quality and accuracy to ensure the highest number of inventory turns and stock accuracy is maintained to the highest level. Managing E&O inventory, shelf life, traceability and perpetual auditing requirements. Lead the S&OP process, and ensure a clearly defined process is followed across all key stakeholders

Responsible for all warehouse operations and inventory (both on and off-site) to ensure the safe and efficient operation to achieve best cost and service to internal and external customers. Lead time reduction improvements including the application of lean strategies to minimize inventory holding and impact on cash.

Responsible for all logistics, transportation and security of goods

Responsible for data accuracy to ensure planning and inventory control. Ensure all key stakeholders have access to timely and accurate. Defines, monitors, and drives improvement on Supply Chain KPIs

Deliverables include OTIF, Inventory Turns, Inventory Accuracy, Plan Accuracy, Supplier price, delivery and quality, Cashflow, MPS, MRP & WMS development

Internal/External Relationships

Personal responsibility for all strategic supply chain partnerships, overseeing all tactical supply chain relationships. Proactive interaction with management colleagues and staff in general. Leading by example, and a trusted source for supply chain expertise.

Knowledge And Skills

Minimum 10 years experience in a similar role in a high volume consumer good (Food, Pharma, Health & Beauty) manufacturing organization

Minimum 5 years experience working with and experience in contributing to developing ERP planning systems and processes

Leadership of a team for Supply Chain professionals, with demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and develop the team to deliver improvements

Results driven with demonstrated achievement in delivering OTIF, Cost and Cashflow and Working Capital improvements

Natural Leader and communication skills to deliver results at pace and “make it happen”

Excellent collaboration skills to work with teams and individuals in a proactive/constructive manner in order to deliver improvements

Clear track record in superior negotiation skills for optimal price, terms, quality and delivery

Presents a professional image that reflects the business values/aspirations and commands respect with both internal and external contacts

Experience

leading a safe and efficient warehousing operation

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills to quickly identify root cause and improvement activities

Advanced MS Office skills (especially Excel)

Education/Experience

Educated to Degree/HND/HNC level

CIPS qualified

Lean Manufacturing & Procurement

Green Belt Six Sigma
