We are currently recruiting for an interim Head of Immigration and Compliance to join our client from July for approximately 4 months, potentially longer.

  • 3 days on site - 2 days at home
  • Salary FTE c£60K

You will be responsible for the oversight and management of all UKVI compliance requirements relating to sponsorship, and lead the operational development and management of the compliance team and the provision of advice and guidance relating to immigration matters. You will ensure the appropriate policies and processes are in place to ensure the University is compliant with UKVI regulations, and that our international applicants are well supported.

About the role

  • Manage the UKVI Compliance Team, monitor compliance risk and recommend appropriate actions to mitigate potential risks
  • Drive transformational change, proactively proposing, establishing, implementing, reviewing and revising policies, procedures and working practices relating to UKVI compliance, based on best practice and sector intelligence
  • To prepare and analyse data for tracking that the University is on track to meet the annual
  • Basic Compliance Assessment Prepare and maintain readiness for institutional audit by UKVI and co-ordinate the periodic renewal of HTS sponsor license to liaise with external agencies and organisations as appropriate e.g. Home Office, UKCISA
  • Proctively promote staff awareness of sponsorship requirements through presentations and guidance

About you

  • Evidence of continuous professional development and engagement with developments around UKVI rules and regulations
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of complex UK VI policy and compliance
  • An in-depth knowledge of policies and procedures in relation migration
  • A service oriented approach and experience of inspiring others to perform to high standards in challenging operational situations
  • Ability to influence the decision making of both senior managers and those not in direct line management to ensure that risk is minimised, and compliance is maximised
  • The ability to work with and present complex data to a range of audiences
  • Experience of using UKVI Sponsor management system
  • Extensive experience in UKVI Compliance processes and reporting
  • Demonstrable understanding and experience of UKVI requirements for visas and the ability to quickly incorporate relevant statutory changes and disseminate any new requirements that arise.
