BlairWest is working on a retained Group Financial Controller position on a Fixed Term Contract for a period of 12 months. This is a group role for a business with a worldwide reach based in Washington, Tyne & Wear.

Reporting into the European Finance Director, you will support with leadership, management and control of the group finance function. You will provide support and financial control globally.

The Role:

  • Manage and Maintain Group Consolidation process through ‘Board’ Software Platform
  • Manage and Maintain monthly input process
  • Prepare Monthly Board Report drafts for review by FD/CFO
  • Prepare monthly KPI variance reports for 3 group functions
  • Provide analysis and support for key variances/movements as part of monthly reporting requirements
  • Support and maintain Group headcount trend reports
  • Support and maintain Group Sales reports
  • Maintain and support Treasury function through daily and monthly cash reports and 13-week cash flow forecasts, daily banking activities and forex requirements
  • Maintenance and preparation of UK and US Corporate entity monthly reports
  • General support and collaboration with the Authentication and Online finance teams
  • Support annual budget and forecasting process – managing entity and divisional inputs, consolidating inputs, providing trend and variance reports and analysis
  • Support year-end reporting requirements – full year group and divisional reporting
  • Prepare and maintain annual consolidation streamers for Group, Authentication and Online
  • Support preparation of Annual Consolidated and Subsidiary accounts at year end
  • Day-to-day operational and functional support of local accounts teams in EMEA and US
  • Supporting the implementation and ongoing improvement of systems, controls, processes, and documentation as part of the Global Finance Function
  • Support annual audit and act as a lead on the year end audit preparation, planning and delivery of the audit process with the respective audit firms
  • Support local and group tax reporting requirements including Corporate, PAYE and VAT requirements

The Individual:

  • Degree level qualification
  • Qualified Accountant
  • Experience of a Group Reporting/Consolidation role/function preferable
  • Strong accounting background and experience
  • Must have good communication skills interacting at all levels from shop floor to Board level, and possess sound influencing, negotiating and assertiveness skills
  • Must be able to demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities
  • Must possess sound business judgement and be able to make appropriate decisions
  • Must have the ability to multitask, be self-motivated and able to work autonomously as well as in a team environment
  • Must demonstrate the highest level of integrity, discretion and confidentiality to be exercised at all times
  • Must possess very good IT skills, particularly for MS Excel
  • Exposure to Board Consolidation Tool, Sage and Netsuite preferred
  • The ability to work accurately paying close attention to detail
  • Flexibility to accommodate ever-changing working environment and demands placed upon it
  • Must be able to fit into a culture where teamwork, empowerment and dedication is of utmost importance
