Intelligence Liaison Officer

British Transport Police (BTP) are looking to recruit an Intelligence Liaison Officeron a permanent contract based at our Force Headquarters in London paying up to £27,824.32 per annum plus £2,700.10 London Allowance.

BTP is the national police force for the rail network throughout Great Britain, including London Underground, across which we ensure the safety and security of nearly 3 billion passenger journeys and over 100 million tons of freight every year. The world in which we work is fast-paced, operationally and commercially demanding, and constantly changing. As Intelligence Liaison Officeryou will provide a vital link between Counter Terrorism Intelligence and our Specialist Operations Officers by obtaining, interpreting and presenting vital information and intelligence. This is a great opportunity for an organised individual with experience of handling extremely sensitive information to join our highly skilled Specialist Operations division.

As Intelligence Liaison Officeryou will be required to:

• 
  Prepare daily briefings for all Specialist Operations Officers nationally
• Maintain the Specialist Operations briefing pages on BTP’s intranet
• Ensure relevant intelligence is disseminated
• Check and verify intelligence received
• Maintain the Force Briefing System
• Liaise with colleagues internally and externally
• Provide weekly and ad-hoc performance documentation and reports
• To support Specialist Operations in the event of the National Threat level being raised
• Acting appropriately when urgent information is received and escalating as necessary

The successful applicantwill be required to evidence the following skills:

• Educated to A-Level (or equivalent) or proven experience in a role which contained a substantial amount of briefing delivery and creation responsibility
• Experience of intelligence related work in law enforcement or the CT environment
• Able to analyse information, condense and prepare in formal briefings both verbally and in written format
• High levels of integrity and discretion
• Knowledge and understanding of Force IT systems

BTP has undertaken a review of Police Staff pensions and as a result of this the Police Staff pension will be changing. The current police staff pension is a Defined Benefit scheme which is administered by the Railways Pension scheme. The new pension scheme which is launching is a Defined Contribution scheme which is administered by Royal London. The new pension scheme is awaiting formal approval and an introductory date is not finalised.
